The artist

From earliest memory, I have explored life through my imagination and communicated my thoughts through my art. I find inspiration in observation of the natural world and the intelligent design manifested in the tiniest structure of a microscopic organism to the broad shapes of a vast mountain range. I am a passionate explorer of how design, light, color, texture and the engaging of our senses can communicate a thought, enhance the spaces we carve out for ourselves, or affect our perspective and sense of well-being.

I have studied art formally and informally during school years and throughout my adulthood. My artistic journey has also been significantly influenced by raising a family with my husband, while simultaneously evolving in my career as an art directer. Skills refined in graphic design, photography, styling, interior design, and painting have shaped my aesthetic. Relationships have influenced my perspectives and I count myself blessed because of my incredibly supportive family, friends, and the professional colleagues from whom I continue to learn so much.

Currently I work in acrylic, watercolor and soft pastel. Each is a unique conduit of communication that allows me to investigate storytelling with elements of realism combined into slightly abstracted or impressionistic landscapes or figurative studies. My creative language and my oeuvre is influenced by a response to the sacred and a curiosity in how things around us fit together and the stories shaped from our lives. In sharing my art, my purpose is to engage, captivate and delight viewers through paintings that express poetry, rhythm, introspection, and ultimately, a sense of hope and joy.
